THE TOPIC TO CHEW ON: Companies on a Mission: Entrepreneurial Strategies for Growing Sustainably, Responsibly, and Profitably

Join us for a presentation by author Michael Russo, who will spotlight what factors predict success among small and mid-sized “mission-driven” companies, those enterprises trying to balance environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and profitability. Analyzing the experiences of more than 100 companies, he developed several strategic frameworks that offer guidance to prospective entrepreneurs. Russo also will address some of the provocative challenges faced by mission-driven companies, as well as how their contributions are influencing their larger, mainstream competitors.

Russo (PhD, UC Berkeley) is the Lundquist Professor of Sustainable Management at the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business.  His articles have appeared in premier scholarly journals and he has won a number of research and teaching awards, including most recently a Silver Nautilus Book Award for Companies on a Mission.
