HUB BROWN BAG LUNCH presents Michael Russo and his exploration of the factors that predict success among small to mid-sized companies looking to meet the triple-bottom line.
Date: December 5th, 2011
Time: 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Location: HUB San Francisco, 901 Mission St., Suite 105, SF 94103
Conference Room: The Board Room
THE TOPIC TO CHEW ON: Companies on a Mission: Entrepreneurial Strategies for Growing Sustainably, Responsibly, and Profitably
Join us for a presentation by author Michael Russo, who will spotlight what factors predict success among small and mid-sized “mission-driven” companies, those enterprises trying to balance environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and profitability. Analyzing the experiences of more than 100 companies, he developed several strategic frameworks that offer guidance to prospective entrepreneurs. Russo also will address some of the provocative challenges faced by mission-driven companies, as well as how their contributions are influencing their larger, mainstream competitors.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Michael V. Russo (PhD, UC Berkeley) is the Lundquist Professor of Sustainable Management at the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business. His articles have appeared in premier scholarly journals and he has won a number of research and teaching awards, including most recently a Silver Nautilus Book Award for Companies on a Mission.

Intersection for the Arts
http://theintersection.org/
Founded in the early 1960’s and incorporated in 1965, Intersection for the Arts cultivates inclusivity, builds community, and inspires social change through art. We develop, produce, and present new work in the performing, literary, visual and interdisciplinary arts and we serve Bay Area communities through artist residencies, public art, education and incubation, and direct community engagement programs. For the past five decades, Intersection has initiated ground-breaking programming and broad-based collaboration that actively demonstrates that art and creativity realized through meaningful, inclusive, and collaborative places fuels vibrancy and facilitates positive
change.
